Abstract

The dynamic plastic buckling of cylindrical shells (rings) subjected to general initial impulsive velocity and subjected to impulsive loading is studied based on the energy criterion. A simple analysis method is given and the formulas of critical mode numbers n cr and critical impulsive velocity ν cr are obtained.
