Simulated traces of casing total-to-static pressure coefficient 5% chord upstream of the rotor leading edge: (a) with the datum, 1.8% chord, tip clearance, the traces are recognizable as spike-stall development and (b) without tip clearance the traces show no warning prior to the leading edge separation and spike-stall development
